Acute rehabilitation is a physician driven multi-disciplinary approach that provides the highest level of rehabilitation. Rehabilitation professionals work together as a team providing 15 hours of therapy per week in a comprehensive, coordinated manner to help individuals optimize their recovery and support a safe return to home, work, school and community.

A long term acute care (LTAC) facility is a specialty-care hospital designed for patients with serious medical problems that require intense, special treatment for an extended period of time.

Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) can provide short-term rehabilitation. SNFs offer therapy for individuals recovering from a surgery, illness or accident. Generally, those needing short-term rehabilitation may remain involved in their program at a facility for as little as a couple of days to as many as several weeks.
